Job description

The College of Business at Abu Dhabi University is seeking to appoint a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Operations Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, conducting high-quality research and scholarly activities in the field, and actively contributing to the college’s and university’s administrative and service responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Operations and Supply Chain Management, and related disciplines.
  • Develop and sustain a productive research agenda that leads to publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals, with the potential to contribute to interdisciplinary and practice-oriented research in the operations management domain.
  • Supervise student projects, internships, and theses, as applicable.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program enhancement, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, evolving industry practices, and the integration of digital and analytical tools used in operations management.
  • Actively participate in departmental, college, and university committees and academic initiatives that support institutional goals.
  • Develop professional capabilities continuously by participating in training programs, workshops, and academic conferences to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and research.
  • Engage with the business and professional community, fostering industry collaboration and supporting the university’s outreach, innovation, and impact initiatives.
Minimum Educational Qualifications Required for the Role:
  • A Ph.D. in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university, preferably accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, or listed in the top 200 global ranking.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to high-quality research.
  • A proven record of curriculum development and innovative teaching practices in accounting.
  • An established portfolio of scholarly research, with publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience in industry practice, consultancy, or professional service is highly desirable.
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
  • At least two years of teaching experience in accredited higher education institutions.
Nature of Relevant Experience Required:
  • Ability to integrate industry insights and emerging trends into curriculum design and classroom instruction. Capacity to contribute to departmental service, program development, and institutional initiatives.
Language – Skills:
  • Professional proficiency in English (oral and written). Arabic is a plus.

  • A detailed curriculum vitae (CV) including a complete list of publications with Scopus rankings.
