Position: Assistant Manager - Open Finance APIs Development

Location: Dubai

Client: An Islamic Bank

Role Overview

Assistant Manager, under the guidance of his/her supervisor, develops computer programs, provides IT solutions, and supports IT systems to meet the needs of Business and IT users at the organization.

Assistant Manager is responsible for carrying out the duties assigned by the project leader / project manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise in modelling and organizing information to facilitate support of projects or information architectures
  • Resolve technical issues, ensuring all parts of the technical integration are correctly incorporated
  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of multiple initiatives related to enhancement of the Banks information systems and processes
  • Identify best practices for development methodologies and project management
  • Ensure all activities comply with policies & procedures of IT department and the Bank
  • Architect and design highly scalable, resilient open finance API platforms
  • Define the microservices architecture, data models, and API gateways
  • Make core technology stack decisions and document API specifications with tools like OpenAPI
  • Serve as a lead engineer, writing and deploying production-level code
  • Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure high quality and performance
  • Architect and implement advanced security protocols, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and mutual TLS
  • Translate complex financial regulations into technical requirements and ensure systems are consistently audit-ready
  • Manage the security posture of the APIs, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Manage team workload and project timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope
  • Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and product, business, legal, and security stakeholders
  • Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Plan and oversee the full lifecycle of API projects, from initial requirements gathering to deployment and post-launch support
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Deliver solutions as per defined quality standards
  • Provide the required support to supervisor & teammates as and when required

All the above accountabilities include, but are not limited to, any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line Manager.

Education
  • Bachelor of Engineering / Computer Science or a related field
