Job description

My client is a well-reputed university within a specified geographical region, seeking a professional to lead careers and alumni activities in the region. The role involves engaging global students through one-to-one and group career workshops and events, collaborating with external markets to generate job opportunities, increasing local alumni engagement, affinity, and fundraising, and contributing to marketing, events, and special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES OR DUTIES :

Work with the Centre Director and Careers and Alumni Relations Manager to implement strategies for the careers and alumni department, aligned with university post-graduation services.

Gather and report data for reports required by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, including user statistics, feedback, and recommendations.

Ensure data integrity by working closely with the central postgraduate careers service and alumni office to update and maintain student and alumni records.

Monitor the local and regional competitive landscape, building partnerships with business schools, societies, and associations beneficial to the university community.

Assist in initiating and managing corporate relations to generate business opportunities.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Officer and the Annual Fund Officer to guide marketing, communication, and fundraising activities locally.

Coordinate with the Postgraduate Careers Service team to ensure integrated services.

Employability & Career Support

  • Provide career advice via face-to-face, phone, and email to postgraduate students.
  • Conduct group career management skills training sessions.
  • Promote additional career services offered by the central Postgraduate Careers Service.
  • Identify and engage local and regional employers to create job opportunities.
  • Organize career fairs, events, and produce CV books to enhance employability.
  • Engage external industry speakers to increase students’ market knowledge.
  • Organize networking events, company visits, and external initiatives to elevate student profiles.
  • Work with local and regional stakeholders to identify opportunities for students and alumni.

Alumni Relations

  • Engage with local and regional alumni to enhance the university's profile and support student initiatives.
  • Serve as the point of contact for alumni committees and groups, fostering strong partnerships.
  • Manage alumni communication and publicity, including print and digital publications, in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Maintain digital communication channels such as social media, email, and newsletters.
  • Guide alumni-related marketing, communication, and fundraising activities.
  • Organize alumni networking events, speaker sessions, and company visits.
  • Involve alumni in initiatives supporting student employability and university branding.
  • Assist in marketing initiatives and support special projects for the Centre Director.

Corporate Engagement

  • Develop and manage corporate relations with target clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and expand corporate opportunities, creating partnerships and job opportunities for students.
  • Support social responsibility activities by securing sponsors for initiatives.
  • Represent the Dubai Centre at community and networking events.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing corporate accounts.

The post holder will also be required to :

  • Have relevant experience within a Higher Education institution in careers, employability, and alumni relations.
  • Be a strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Possess effective communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
  • Be organized, proactive, and able to prioritize diverse tasks.
