Job summary

A leading airline in the UAE is seeking a Fleet Engineer responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and airworthiness standards for the aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics engineering and at least 3 years of related experience. Responsibilities include reviewing Airworthiness Directives, supporting modification projects, and collaborating to improve fleet reliability. Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a chartered engineer.
  • 3 years CAMO experience as Fleet Engineer/Technical Services Engineer preferred.
  • Aircraft B1/B2 type training on A320, A350 or A380 fleet is an advantage.

Job description

The Fleet Engineer reports to the Airbus Technical Fleet Manager – Fleet Management and is responsible for the compliance of applicable CAR‑AIR – OPS, CAR M and CAR 145 requirements in order to ensure the continuing airworthiness and to maintain the high aircraft safety standards.

Accountabilities
  • Review of all Airbus‑related Airworthiness Directives and mandatory Service Bulletins on the Etihad Airways Fleet to ensure that all mandatory modifications are properly assessed, decided, all the related assessments are performed and complied in a timely manner to maintain aircraft airworthiness and safety standards.
  • Work with OEMs, MROs and internal departments to improve the fleet reliability, on‑time performance and reduce cost.
  • Create business cases for modifications and facilitate decision making in the Modification Review Committee.
  • Compile Engineering Orders, Special Checks and Additional Engineering Requirements for the purpose of modification, aircraft status assessment for reliability and safety issues.
  • Support technical projects (e.g. EIS, end of aircraft lease, modification projects).
  • Ensures that all TFU/FAIR are reviewed on a regular basis and related advisories are issued.
  • Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with internal processes and procedures.
  • Encourages colleagues and is actively involved in the promotion of a positive reporting culture, by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions or safety risks.
  • Provide support to the Lead Engineer on the Fleet Management functions.
Education & Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements for membership as a chartered engineer (e.g. Bachelor degree in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics engineering).
  • 3 years CAMO experience as Fleet Engineer/ Technical Services Engineer or a 5‑year job‑related experience in the field of Technical Commercial Aviation or Airline Engineering is generally preferred.
  • Aircraft B1/B2 type training on A320 or A350 or A380 fleet and experience in AMOS MIS will be added advantage.
