Overview

The Assistant/Associate Professor in Economics is a faculty position in the School of Business at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK). AURAK is an independent, public, state-owned, non-profit, coeducational institution in the United Arab Emirates that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. All instruction at the university is in English. The School of Business offers one undergraduate program (BS in Business Administration) with majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Hospitality and Tourism Management, and two graduate programs (MBA and Executive MBA). The school has been granted initial accreditation by the AACSB in 2023.

Responsibilities

• Teach Economics in the undergraduate BSBA program and as part of General Education.
• Demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and maintain a research record or agenda that supports being classified as a “scholarly academic” under AACSB accreditation standards.
• Engage in service to the university, the discipline, and the community.

Qualifications and Requirements

• An earned doctorate in economics with the appropriate specialization from an accredited university.
• A record of established research for the associate/assistant professor rank.
• A history of successful university teaching experience in the specialization.
• A record of university or community service.
