Job Description
The role involves managing and coordinating the sales function to meet organizational goals, leading a team of advisors, and developing relationships with clients to promote financial products and services.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- FSCA Approved Qualification
- RE5 Certification
- FAIS Compliance
- Experience in Product categories (Long term Insurance subcategories B1, B2, and Retail pension benefits)
- CPD – Continuous Professional Development (all cycles)
- Class of Business (COB)
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- Clear criminal and credit checks
- Proven computer literacy (MS Office)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous managerial experience
- Knowledge of and exposure to Group Schemes (advantageous)
- Internal: Successful completion of MODP (for internal applicants)
- External: Managerial qualification (advantageous)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Direction: Communicate and implement the sales strategy and business plan, motivate staff, and align with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Customer Relationship Management / Account Management: Develop plans for managing complex customer accounts, build relationships with decision-makers, and address customer needs effectively.
- Sell Customer Propositions: Design and present tailored product solutions, negotiate contracts, and review team proposals, escalating issues as needed.
- Sales Opportunities Creation: Build a network within the sector, participate in events, gather market intelligence, and enhance organizational visibility.
- Performance Management: Oversee team performance, set objectives, and take corrective actions to ensure targets are met.
- Operations Management: Manage operational activities with guidance from senior management.
- Promoting Customer Focus: Develop marketing and internal collaboration strategies to strengthen customer relationships.
- Key Account Management: Manage key customer relationships, including mid-tier and multinational clients, with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting: Identify and build relationships with potential clients, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Budgeting: Prepare and manage budget plans with senior support.
- Organizational Capability Building: Identify team development needs, facilitate professional growth, and provide coaching to improve performance.
