About the role
We are seeking an Operational Services Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure the smooth functioning of the facility. This role is key to providing an excellent customer experience at the shopping centre while maintaining operational efficiency.
What you will bring
- Qualification in business management, facilities/property management
- Between 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in Facilities or Operations Management
- Electrical, mechanical, or construction background, as well as technical skills
- Experience in overseeing daily operations and coordinating team efforts
- Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), as well as business systems such as SAP and MDA
- Awareness and implementation of quality standards
- Basic contract management abilities
- Proven experience in managing and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors and service providers
- Working knowledge and understanding of lease conditions
- Administration principles and reporting expertise
- Understanding of cost budgeting and control
- Working knowledge of statutory requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency in basic numeracy skills
What you will be doing
- Facility Management
- Ensure the shopping centre is maintained to high standards, including cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation
- Supervise maintenance activities and manage relationships with contractors and service providers
- Staff Management
- Supervise and lead a team of operations staff, including security, cleaners, and maintenance team
- Schedule shifts (maintenance) and manage employee performance, providing support where necessary
- Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensure the shopping centre complies with all health, safety, and fire regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits and tenant inspections, addressing potential hazards, and keeping records of pest control compliance
- Customer Service
- Monitor customer service operations, address complaints or issues raised by customers or tenants
- Design operations to enhance the shopping experience
- Maintain tenant communication and coordinate issues with relevant departments
- Budgeting and Cost Management
- Assist in managing the operational budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining service quality
- Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction
- Tenant Relations
- Foster positive relationships with retail tenants, addressing operational needs and coordinating requests
- Ensure tenant compliance with centre rules and regulations
- Security and Emergency Response
- Supervise security operations and ensure emergency protocols are in place
- Oversee incident reporting and coordinate during emergencies
- Reporting and Communication
- Prepare reports on operational performance for senior management
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
