Job summary

Affirm is seeking a senior mobile engineering leader to own technical strategy for a year-long horizon, guiding a React Native team building scalable apps. You will collaborate across product, design, analytics to ensure sustainability, risk management, and impactful trade-offs.

You will drive runtime reliability, define code standards, and mentor engineers. The role emphasizes ownership, quality, and the ability to operate across low-level details to system architecture in a remote-first,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications.
• 4+ years of React Native experience.
• Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with complex state management in a React app; Redux Toolkit is a bonus.
• Experience updating React Native SDKs and debugging across JS/native boundaries.
• Stays current with native OS releases and their impact on React Native apps.
• Experience with mobile testing and observability tooling (Maestro, Appium, Sentry/Crashlytics, Statsig/LaunchDarkly).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and evaluating agentic tooling.
• Proven track record delivering major features and leading teams.
