Job summary

Affirm is hiring a senior Mobile Architect for App Infrastructure to guide a team delivering scalable React Native apps across the org. You will shape technical strategy, drive architecture decisions, and partner with product, design, and analytics to maintain quality and reliability.

You will lead by example in code quality, on-call readiness, and cross-team collaboration, while mentoring engineers and building robust tooling for maintainability in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years developing and architecting mobile apps.
• 4+ years using React Native.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with React Native SDK updates and native modules.
• Experience with complex state management (Redux Toolkit bonus).
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics for sustainability and risk trade-offs.
• Define and advocate technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations, monitoring, playbooks, and on-call readiness.
• Set code review and design standards company-wide through writing and tech talks.
• Mentor and develop team members through feedback and example.
