Job summary

Affirm is recruiting a senior engineer for App Infrastructure to lead mobile platform strategy and execution. You will partner with product, design, and analytics to deliver scalable, observable, and high-quality mobile systems across teams.

You will guide a team through ownership of operations, on-call readiness, and growth—driving standards, tooling, and cross-team collaboration in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of developing and architecting mobile apps; 4+ using React Native.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React Native and Expo; authored or migrated native modules.
• Experience with complex state management; Redux Toolkit a bonus.
• RN SDK updates and debugging across JS-native boundary.
• Stay current with native OS releases and RN integration.
• Experience with mobile testing/observability tools (Maestro/Appium, Sentry/Crashlytics, LaunchDarkly/Statsig).
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and maintaining code quality.
• Track record delivering major features and driving teams to execution.
• Comfort with ambiguity and scaling from low-level code to large systems.
• Strong verbal/written communication across global teams.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• Collaborate with product, design, and analytics to ensure sustainability and risk awareness.
• Drive technical solutions and operational processes as a force-multiplier.
• Own team operations and availability with monitoring, on-call playbooks, and policies.
• Establish and propagate code review and design standards across teams.
• Mentor and develop team talent through feedback and leadership by example.
