Job summary

Affirm is hiring for a senior mobile architect to lead app infrastructure and drive technical strategy across the product lifecycle. You’ll own the implementation of shared components, monitoring, and release processes while influencing quality and ownership standards across teams.

The role requires deep React Native experience, strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills, and a track record delivering large features within a remote-first environment. Equity and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing and architecting mobile applications, 4+ using React Native.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React Native and Expo; authored or migrated native modules/components.
• Experience with complex state management in a React app and Redux Toolkit is a bonus.
• Experience with mobile testing and observability tooling like Maestro/Appium, Sentry/Crashlytics, experimentation/feature-flagging platforms.
• Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon and tie it to business-impacting projects.
• Collaborate across product management, design and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and trade-offs.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations and availability with monitoring, on-call playbooks, and testing.
• Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards and sharing them beyond the team.
• Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance and leading by example.
