Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to shape technical strategy for a React Native based mobile app platform. You’ll partner with product, design and analytics to ensure sustainable, scalable solutions and robust on-call readiness.

You will lead by example, drive high-quality code and design standards, and mentor teammates while navigating a remote-first environment across the US.

Qualifications

• 7+ years developing and architecting mobile apps.
• 4+ years using React Native including Expo.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native SDK updates.
• Experience with complex React state management; Redux Toolkit a bonus.
• Knowledge of mobile testing, observability tooling, and AI-assisted development.
• Proven track record leading teams on large projects.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with a global team.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for the team on a yearly horizon.
• Collaborate across product management, design, and analytics.
• Define and advocate technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own team operations and on-call readiness with playbooks and monitoring.
• Establish code review and design standards and promote them broadly.
• Mentor and develop team members through feedback and example.
