Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client. This is a full-time remote role requiring an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

You will lead the development and maintenance of COBOL programs, update documentation, perform unit testing, and collaborate with management and engineering teams to deliver compliant tax processing solutions. A BS degree and 5+ years of related experience are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent
• At least four years of IBM COBOL programming experience
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities
• Experience with CICS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Lead development of software solutions meeting business requirements; design modules, unit test, troubleshoot, and draft proposals
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules; implement as appropriate
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition
• Design software solutions per system requirements and code to designs
• Code reviews, unit tests, and integrate modules
• Provide guidance and training to other developers; support testing and remediation of defects
• Assist users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data
• Review documentation such as UWRs, IRMs, ICDs, and COHs; rewrite programs to improve efficiency
