Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client in a fully remote capacity. The role requires an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and 5+ years of relevant experience in COBOL, DB2, and related tooling.

You will lead design and coding efforts, perform unit testing, and contribute to documentation and process improvements. Strong communication and the ability to work independently or in a team are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) is required.
• At least 4 years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities; knowledge of CICS and JCL preferred.
• Strong communication and client-support skills; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of software solutions that meet business requirements; design and implement modules; conduct unit testing and debugging.
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools; implement as appropriate.
• Collaborate on requirements elicitation and definition; design software per system specs.
• Code, review, test, and integrate modules; assist other developers with guidance.
• Prepare or update documentation (FSPs/PRPs) and diagrams as needed; track requirements and test cases.
• Support testing, production issues, and troubleshooting; review logs and data for analysis.
• Mentor and train other employees; ensure coding standards are followed.
