Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer for an IRS client in a fully remote role. The candidate must possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

The position requires strong hands-on COBOL development experience, with DB2, CICS, SQL, and JCL familiarity, and a track record of delivering reliable software solutions. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience are essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 5+ years of relevant professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) required.
• At least four (4) years of experience with IBM COBOL programming language.
• Experience with DB2 and IBM DB2 utilities.
• Experience with CICS.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in client support.
• Ability to interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with IRS processing systems; SQL, JCL, Batch processing.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of software solutions that meet business requirements, including designing and implementing modules, unit testing, troubleshooting, and producing detailed proposals.
• Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, and modules and implement as appropriate.
• Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
• Design software solutions per systems requirements.
• Code software solutions per designs.
• Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules.
• Assist other developers in resolving issues by providing guidance and training.
• Support testing and remediate defects.
• Support users through troubleshooting and analysis of production logs and data.
• Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to improve coding standards.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
