Maximus is seeking a Senior IBM COBOL Developer for a remote, full-time role supporting the IRS client. The position requires an active Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and five-plus years of COBOL experience within a DB2/CICS environment.

The job involves leading development efforts, updating documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to design robust tax-processing solutions while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
• At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
• Active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) is required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of IBM COBOL programming experience.
• Experience with DB2, IBM DB2 utilities, and CICS.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; client support experience.

Mansioni

• Lead the development of software solutions, including design, unit testing, debugging, and documentation.
• Evaluate new coding techniques and tools and implement as appropriate.
• Confer on requirements elicitation and definition with stakeholders.
• Design and code software solutions per system requirements and workflows.
• Perform code reviews, unit tests, and integration of modules.
• Provide guidance and training to other developers when needed.
• Support testing, remediation of defects, and production data analysis.
• Create, update, and maintain IBM COBOL programs and related docs.
