Job summary

ABB Drive Products is looking for a VFD Support Specialist to provide expert technical assistance to ABB customers, the sales channel, and product teams across the United States. The role is remote, within the Motion Drive Products division, and aims to help customers achieve reliable drive performance while supporting warranty processes and continuous improvement.

You will troubleshoot Low Voltage VFDs, assist with drive programming and control-system integrations, collaborate with engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience, or an associate's degree and 4 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience, or a High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work (REQUIRED).
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and ability to troubleshoot drives.
• Ability to communicate with customers in English (verbal and written) and be computer-literate.
• Must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for VFD applications, assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, communication, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization for warranty repairs.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases and solutions using Salesforce Case Management.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
