Job summary

ABB Inc. seeks a VFD Support Specialist to deliver technical support remotely from the United States for the Motion Drive Products division. You will assist with VFD applications, drive programming and system integration while coordinating with engineering and service teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant Electrical, Technical experience OR associate's degree and 4 years of relevant Electrical, Technical experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of relevant Electrical, Technical experience required.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work is REQUIRED.
• Ability to troubleshoot drives applying fundamental electrical principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for VFD-related problems, including commissioning, troubleshooting and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Collaborate with warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases and solutions using Salesforce Case Management.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
