Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to ABB customers, sales channel, and product teams.

The role covers VFDs, 3-phase power, system wiring, and connectivity, with a remote work model in the United States supporting the Motion Drive Products division. You will troubleshoot by phone and email, assist with drive programming and configuration, collaborate with engineering, field service, and warranty teams, and document cases in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of electrical/technical experience OR Associate's degree with 4+ years of electrical/technical experience OR High School Diploma/GED with 6+ years of electrical/technical experience.
• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives is REQUIRED.
• Strong understanding of electricity principles and troubleshooting for drives.
• Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written) and be computer-literate.
• Candidates must have US work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone & email for VFD applications, troubleshooting, commissioning, and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, communication, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization for warranty repairs.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases, solutions, and best practices using Salesforce Case Management among other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
