Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to customers, end users, and internal teams. The role focuses on Low Voltage VFDs, 3 Phase Power, and system wiring, with support via phone and email from a remote location in the United States.

You will work with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to troubleshoot problems, configure drives, and process warranty actions. Strong English communication and electrical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience OR associate's degree with 4 years OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant Electrical/Technical experience.
• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work (REQUIRED).
• Ability to apply electrical principles to drive troubleshooting.
• Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written; computer-literate.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for Low Voltage VFD applications, assisting customers and field techs with commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty evaluations.
• Assist customers with drive programming, parameter configuration, communication, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales, and product teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with the warranty team to initiate warranty replacements and labor authorization for repairs.
• Maintain detailed documentation of support cases, solutions, and best practices using Salesforce Case Management and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD technologies, software updates, and industry trends.
