Job summary

NovaTech Automation, a U.S.-based supplier of automation and engineering solutions for power utilities, seeks a Technical Sales Engineer for a remote role. You will serve as the technical backbone of the sales team, translating engineering knowledge into winning proposals, compelling demos, and trusted customer relationships.

This position requires 50–70% travel and involves face-to-face time at customers and industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or Engineering is required.
• 4+ years of electric utility automation experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) in the utility space; familiarity with SCADA protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC-61850).
• Familiarity with substation architecture, network & serial communications; experience managing live chats, field testing and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Become a go-to expert on NovaTech’s Orion, Bitronics, and Kronos products and their real-world applications.
• Support customers with product integration and technical questions throughout the sales cycle; provide hands-on technical support to field sales during pursuits.
• Lead Bid & Proposal activities (RFI/RFP), develop and deliver product demonstrations for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Represent NovaTech at industry trade shows and training events; contribute technical content to marketing materials and proposals.
