ABB's Distribution Solutions Division seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to expand the Grid Automation portfolio in the U.S. market. You will bridge advanced grid tech with market penetration strategies and engage utilities and partners to drive growth.

This remote role reports to the Product Marketing Director and requires up to 30% travel; preferred locations include Cary, NC or Houston, TX, with nationwide flexibility for a strong candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in technical business development.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. utility market dynamics and grid standards (IEEE/IEC 61850).
• Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models in energy.

Responsibilities

• Market strategy leadership to drive U.S. growth and partnerships.
• Lead presales technical activities and support solution design for grid architectures.
• Influence standards through IEEE and other working groups.
• Build ecosystem partnerships and communicate field insights for offerings like SSC600, SMU600, CogniEN.
