Job summary

New Value Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Technical Services Engineer to serve as a technical interface for utilities and industrial clients. The role focuses on power-system protection, protective relays, disturbance recorders, automation, and commissioning.

You will provide application support, help with installation and configuration, and deliver demonstrations and training. Remote work is possible with up to 20% travel within the U.S., Canada, and beyond.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
8–10 years of experience with protective relays and disturbance/fault recorders.
Strong understanding of electric power systems and industry practices.
Experience applying protective relays in utility, consultancy, OEM environments.
Experience with EMTP and power-system studies.
Strong troubleshooting, presentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support on protective relays, disturbance recorders, and automation applications.
Assist with product application, configuration, installation and commissioning.
Deliver product demonstrations, training sessions, and remote support.
Troubleshoot issues and recommend technical solutions.
Develop technical notes, papers, and customer-support materials.
Prepare and present technical proposals.
Support cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Applications Engineering, Product Development).
Participate in IEEE PSRC, NASPI, and other industry meetings.
Contribute to manuals, datasheets, and ordering guides.
Possibly assume project-management or supervisory duties when assigned.
