Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation for fully remote work with occasional in-person discussions during interviews. You will own preliminary substation design, align scope and schedule, and coordinate inputs from multiple teams to support 10% design deliverables for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE licensure is a nice-to-have, not required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD and ETAP.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, and NESC standards; knowledge of utility interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the preliminary substation design and technical ownership for 10% design deliverables.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and other stakeholders.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design including single-line diagrams and general arrangements.
• Support BD kickoff, design-to-preconstruction handoff, and client communications.
• Maintain design documentation, checklists, and support handoff to Preconstruction Engineering.
