Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation to lead preliminary designs for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects.

The role is fully remote and will own the 10% design deliverable, aligning scope, assumptions, and risks from kickoff to preconstruction handoff. You will collaborate with engineering, estimating, scheduling, and procurement teams, review client documents, and ensure technical alignment with standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 10% substation design development and define design basis.
• Review client documents, technical exhibits, PPAs, interconnection agreements, and related project information.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and other specialists.
