Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer II, Substation for a fully remote role.

You will own the preliminary substation design lifecycle for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects, coordinating with BD, engineering, and vendors from kickoff through handoff. You will lead the 10% design, review client documents and interconnection agreements, and ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• PE licensure is a nice-to-have, not required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and ETAP for design work.

Responsibilities

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design for assigned pursuits and projects.
• Lead the 10% design development including single-line diagrams and layouts.
• Coordinate inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, estimating, and scheduling.
• Review estimates for technical completeness and identify gaps or risks.
• Prepare engineering scope and handoff materials for Preconstruction.
• Mentor junior team members and support process improvements.
