SOLV Energy, Inc. is hiring a Design Engineer II, Substation to own the preliminary substation design lifecycle for utility-scale solar, BESS, and interconnection projects. You will coordinate with engineering teams and external partners, delivering 10% design packages and ensuring alignment with project scope and schedules.

The role supports remote work; location details will be discussed during interviews. Qualified candidates have a PE (nice-to-have) and 3+ years in substation engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electrical substation engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar design software.

Responsabilités

• Own the first-pass preliminary substation design approach for assigned pursuits and projects to define design basis and key assumptions.
• Review client documents, interconnection agreements, and related project information to identify requirements and risks.
• Coordinate technical inputs from engineering consultants, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and other stakeholders.
• Lead development of the 10% substation design including single-line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Align preliminary design with schedule, scope narrative, and commercial assumptions.
