Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for focused industry segments, working with SAMs to drive ITO in the US.

The role is remote within the United States with travel up to 2–3 times a year and reports to Sales Support Manager. You will leverage ABB empower and the portfolio to improve profitability on large-scale data center and critical manufacturing projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in the electrical distribution; minimum 5 years in sales and project quotations.
• Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio, design characteristics, and ABB empower configuration tools.
• Experience with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects with multiple work packages.
• Experience with global and local cross functional teams and interfacing with senior management.
• Ability to leverage electronic tools to stay organized and communicate remotely (Outlook, Salesforce.com, Teams).
• Willingness to travel up to 2-3 times a year.
• Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with SAMs and strategic customers to understand CTQ factors essential for growth.
• Organizing and leading deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
• Developing solutions leveraging ABB Electrification's portfolio and proposing cost-saving alternatives.
• Evaluating project risk triggers to ensure alignment with ABB standards and initiating risk reviews.
