Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategic Segment Proposal Engineer to develop technical and commercial proposals for focused industry segments in the US. You will work with SAMs to drive ITO, focusing on high-probability, high-profitability projects using ABB Electrification's portfolio.

This remote role supports ABB Electrification Smart Buildings in the United States, with travel up to 2-3 times per year as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum 10 years of experience working in the electrical distribution or related industry.
Minimum 5 years of Sales and project quotations experience.
Deep technical knowledge of ABB electrical distribution product portfolio, general industry design characteristics, and configuration tools (ABB empower).
Experience working with EPC, industrial, or data center end users on large scale projects with multiple work packages.
Experience working with global and local cross functional teams and interacting with senior management.
Ability to leverage electronic tools to stay organized and communicate effectively remotely (Outlook, Salesforce, Teams).
Ability to travel up to 2-3 times a year.
Candidates must already have a work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

Collaborating with SAMs and Strategic Customers to understand CTQ factors essential for growth.
Organizing and lead deal strategy and pricing discussions with internal stakeholders.
Contributing to development of innovative solutions leveraging ABB's product portfolio to reduce costs and increase profitability.
Evaluating project risk triggers to ensure alignment with ABB standards and coordinating with the risk manager.
