Job summary

Twilio is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager for the Communication Identity Domain. You will lead Porting, Hosting, and A2P Messaging teams to enable number porting, hosting, and compliant messaging at scale.

You will champion AI-driven development, build a high-performing team, and ensure operational excellence across reliability, security, and on-call health, while partnering with product and dependent teams to move faster.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in engineering management.
• Strong hands-on background in designing and operating highly available, cloud-native distributed systems.
• Deep familiarity with AWS ecosystems (Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, Kafka), microservices patterns, and infrastructure-as-code practices (Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Demonstrated experience driving AI tool adoption within your engineering team.
• Proven track record of shipping complex software products on time and at high quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery roadmap for the Communication Identity Domain, including customer-facing services, internal platform APIs, and Ops Tooling.
• Drive the adoption of AI coding assistants and AI-augmented workflows within your team; measure impact on velocity.
• Take full accountability for team operational excellence, including reliability, incident response, on-call health, and security posture.
• Serve two customer bases: external developers and internal dependent teams, ensuring seamless workflows and robust APIs.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class engineering team; champion diversity and inclusion in hiring and development.
