Job summary

Twilio seeks a Senior Engineering Manager in the Communication Identity Domain to lead Porting, Hosting, and A2P Messaging teams. You will own the people strategy, delivery execution, and stakeholder relationships for moving and activating phone numbers for existing and prospective customers.

You will champion AI-driven development, ensuring engineers adopt LLMs and agentic tools to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and stay at the forefront of modern software engineering.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in engineering management.
• Strong hands-on background in designing and operating cloud-native distributed systems.
• Deep familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, Kafka) and IaC practices.
• Proven ability to ship complex software products on time with data-driven metrics.
• Experience adopting AI tools to accelerate delivery and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery roadmap for the Communication Identity Domain across external and internal services.
• Drive AI tooling adoption and measure impact on team velocity and quality.
• Own operational excellence: reliability, incident response, on-call health, and security posture.
• Engage with Product Management and dependent teams to ensure developer-friendly APIs and tooling.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing, diverse engineering team.
• Communicate strategy, progress, risks, and trade-offs to leadership and partners.
