Job summary

Twilio Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Communication Identity Domain. You will lead Porting, Hosting, and A2P Messaging, aligning external and internal customer needs with reliable, scalable services.

You will champion AI-driven development and build a high‑performing team while managing cross-functional stakeholders and ensuring operational excellence across live production numbers and campaigns.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in engineering management leading 10+ engineers.
• Strong hands-on background in designing and operating highly available, cloud-native distributed systems.
• Deep familiarity with AWS ecosystems and modern infrastructure tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Experience driving AI tool adoption and AI-powered development practices.
• Proven track record of delivering complex software on time with a data-driven approach.
• Proven ability to grow diverse, high‑performing engineering teams with inclusive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery roadmap for the Communication Identity Domain and drive quarterly plans with measurable outcomes.
• Drive AI adoption and set expectations for AI-augmented workflows to boost velocity and quality.
• Ensure operational excellence: reliability, incident response, on-call health, and security posture.
• Engage with external and internal customers to gather feedback and align APIs and tooling with needs.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class engineering team and foster psychological safety.
• Prioritize across external features, internal platform needs, and Ops tooling with a clear saying-no framework.
• Communicate strategy and risks clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Manage relationships with Product Management and dependent engineering teams to enable faster delivery.
