Job summary

Twilio is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager in the Communication Identity Domain to lead Porting, Hosting, and A2P Messaging teams. You will own delivery, partner with product and internal teams, and ensure reliable, scalable services that move numbers for customers.

You will champion AI-driven development, recruit and develop leaders, and align roadmaps with customer needs while maintaining high standards of operational excellence and security.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in engineering management.
• Strong hands-on background in cloud-native distributed systems.
• Deep familiarity with AWS ecosystems and microservices.
• Experience driving AI tool adoption within engineering teams.
• Delivery excellence with agile methodologies and data-driven metrics.
• Leadership in building diverse, high-performing teams.
• Clear communication of strategy, trade-offs, and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery roadmap for the Communication Identity Domain, including customer-facing services, internal platform APIs, and Ops Tooling.
• Drive the adoption of AI coding assistants within the team and measure impact on velocity.
• Ensure operational excellence: reliability, incident response, on-call health, and security posture.
• Collaborate with Product Management for external customers and internal dependent teams.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a world‑class engineering team and foster psychological safety.
• Balance external product commitments with internal platform obligations and tool investments.
• Communicate strategy, progress, and risks to engineering leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Build bridges with stakeholders and provide clear visibility into roadmaps and trade-offs.
• Maintain high standards of integrity and ethical behavior.
