Job summary

Premier Group Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to independently manage complex engagements, lead month-end close, and serve as a technical resource for clients and team members.

This role moves beyond task execution to reviewing financial results, identifying issues, improving processes, and helping staff succeed. The position is part-time (20–25 hours/week) with potential to convert to full-time after a 90-day period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience in public, government, nonprofit or professional services.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal financial reporting schedules and reconciliations.
• Perform complex monthly/quarterly reconciliations across GL, Treasury, payroll and more.
• Research and resolve unreconciled balances and discrepancies.
• Support federal financial statement prep and grant management.
• Analyze grants, interagency agreements, and fund structures.
• Develop audit-ready workpapers and respond to audits.
• Review staff work for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain detailed accounting documentation.
• Collaborate with clients to gather information and meet deadlines.
• Improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
