Job summary

Premier Group Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant who can independently manage complex accounting engagements, lead recurring close and reporting activities, and serve as a reliable technical resource for clients and team members.

This role is designed for an experienced accountant who understands the full accounting cycle and can move beyond task completion to reviewing financial results, identifying issues, improving processes, and helping less-experienced staff succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA license or active CPA candidacy preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting, outsourced accounting, governmental, nonprofit, or professional-services experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the full accounting cycle.
• Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis.
• Experience reviewing the work of other accounting staff and providing actionable feedback.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and data analysis.
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal financial reporting schedules, analyses, reconciliations, entries and supporting docs.
• Perform complex reconciliations across GL, Treasury, payroll, grants, and fund accounts.
• Research and resolve unreconciled or abnormal balances and discrepancies.
• Support federal financial statements and reporting requirements with schedules and docs.
• Assist with budget execution, funds management, and forecasting.
• Monitor appropriations, obligations, and expenditures; ensure funding availability.
• Support grant financial management and 2 CFR Part 200 compliance.
• Analyze interagency agreements, funding, and cost recovery.
