Job summary

Premier Group Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to independently manage complex engagements, lead close and reporting, and serve as a technical resource for clients and team members.

The role emphasizes moving beyond task completion to reviewing results, improving processes, and mentoring staff. Ideal candidates will oversee federal financial reporting, grant management, and fund accounting, while maintaining strict timelines and high-quality documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA status or candidacy.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience in public, government, nonprofit, or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the full accounting cycle; ability to lead close and reporting.
• Experience reviewing staff work and providing actionable feedback.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal financial reporting schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Conduct complex reconciliations across GL, payroll, grants, and fund accounts.
• Support federal reporting, budget execution, and funds management.
• Analyze grant expenditures, drawdowns, and 2 CFR Part 200 compliance.
• Assist with audits, internal controls, and financial process improvements.
• Lead staff through reviews and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
