Job summary

Travelers in Bloomsburg, PA invites you to join our Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property program. You will train in claim handling and customer service while learning policy interpretation, working remotely with a mix of field visits to insureds and offices.

You’ll gather information, assess damages, communicate with customers, and maintain records as you develop the skills to handle 1st party property claims independently. A driving license and license pursuit are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service skills and commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Basic conflict resolution skills; willingness to learn techniques for facilitating productive discussions and negotiations.
• Demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training classes covering policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to determine coverage for building damages per policy terms.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in management systems.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and digital tool rollouts.
• Possibly obtain licenses and comply with requirements.
• Assist in Catastrophe Response Program deployment when needed.
