Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property, to train in claims handling, customer service, and policy interpretation. The program lasts 9–12 months and enables progression to full claims responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training including AI and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training covering insurance policies, claims processes, systems; including virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to determine coverage and scope of damages per policy terms.
• Maintain accurate records in claim management systems and communicate with customers and stakeholders.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and digital tool rollouts.
