Job summary

Travelers is actively seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property, to train in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation. The program lasts 9–12 months and is based remotely with a mix of home work and occasional travel to Travelers offices.

You will develop the skills to handle 1st party property claims, gather information, assess damages, and communicate with policyholders and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); willingness to learn claims management and estimating software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies, specific claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under direct supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and information and determine coverage for building damages per policy terms.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses for estimates.
