Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert to drive complex payroll tax resolutions and govern SOPs for the PTO team. You will own escalations, coach staff, and ensure compliance across multi-state taxes while providing data-driven guidance in cross-functional settings.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in payroll tax with complex defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Previous experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching examples.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations across US jurisdictions and local taxes.
• Ability to author, review, and approve SOPs and technical documents.
• Own SLA metrics and proactively remove workflow blockers.
• Capable of handling high-sensitivity escalations with minimal guidance.
• Experience in contact center or back-office operations helpful.
• Willingness to leverage AI tools to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as real-time technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff and teach resolution paths.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles across operations.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions to close skill gaps.
• Lead team huddles, QA sessions, and stand-ups as needed.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing adjustments.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices and cross-jurisdictional issues.
• Approve complex amended Federal/State returns with audit trails.
• Identify compliance risks and communicate data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings with a compliance focus.
