Intuit is seeking a Lead Tax Processor and Subject Matter Expert to drive complex payroll tax cases and oversee SOP/KB governance. You will mentor staff, resolve multi-state tax issues, and ensure audit-ready documentation while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

You will lead coaching sessions, manage WIP and aging reports, and push continuous improvement using AI tools to optimize workflows. This is a senior, strategic operational role within PTO.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with complex tax defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Lead/Senior SME experience with coaching junior staff.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regulations including local taxes (e.g., PA, OH) and state programs (PFML, SDI).
• Advanced writing skills for SOPs and technical documents.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff and teach resolution paths.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles.
• Conduct quarterly coaching sessions to close skill gaps.
• Lead team huddles, QA sessions, and act as backup for Daily Stand-Ups.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports to guide staffing decisions.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices across states; manage IRS/state discrepancies.
• Approve complex amended returns (Form 941-X, W-2c) with audit trails.
• Identify trends, compliance risks, and Known Issues; communicate findings with data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings with a compliance-focused stance.
