Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Lead Tax Processor and SME to resolve highly complex payroll tax issues across multiple states. You will own SOPs, coach the team, and drive structured routines to build workforce capacity.

You will approve challenging tax amendments and provide governance over procedures. You will act as the go-to technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff, manage escalations, and ensure compliance while leveraging AI tools to optimize workflows and drive continuous improvement in a remote

Qualifications

• Experience resolving complex tax defects and multi-state amendments.
• Experience coaching junior staff on nuanced resolutions.
• Proven ability to author and approve SOPs and KB articles.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, TP3 staff and teach resolution paths.
• Own the authoring, technical review, and formal approval of SOPs and KB articles.
• Coach team members quarterly using SBIC feedback model to close skill gaps.
• Lead or support team huddles and stand-ups when needed.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; recommend staffing adjustments.
• Resolve the most severe payroll tax notices across states; address IRS/state issues.
• Approve complex amended Federal and State returns with audit trails.
