Job summary

Connections Health Solutions is seeking a Payroll Accountant to manage timely payroll processing and related tax reporting for a fully remote role. You will support Accounts Payable as needed and ensure accurate, compliant payroll operations across multiple states.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with garnishments and complex payroll tasks. The role offers comprehensive benefits and remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2–3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience running payroll in a multi-state environment.
• Strong payroll tax compliance, reconciliation, and reporting knowledge.
• Experience with garnishments, levies, liens, support orders, and subpoenas.
• Familiarity with Excel and analytical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees using Ceridian/Dayforce.
• Ensure hours submitted and approved; resolve discrepancies with employees/managers.
• Update 401k deferrals, employer match, and 401k loans in payroll system.
• Process garnishments and tax levies; complete required paperwork.
• Process off-cycle payrolls; ensure payroll tax compliance and year-end reporting.
• Coordinate with HR, FP&A and third parties to optimize payroll configurations.
• Create and maintain payroll SOPs; assist with audits and inquiries.
• Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related questions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and other duties as assigned.
