Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to serve as the front door for securing access to care. You will schedule appointments, gather demographics and insurance details, and coordinate records for multiple clinics and campuses.

The role requires strong English communication, interpersonal skills and experience in scheduling or healthcare environments. Partial remote work is available, with a day shift from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM in Worcester, MA.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading and writing skills required.
• Strong intrapersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Preferred: scheduling and/or phone customer services experience.
• Preferred: experience in a health care organization.
• Bilingual speaking, reading, and writing skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handles incoming calls from patients, families and providers to schedule appointments across multiple clinics/departments.
• Makes outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
• Collects patient demographics, insurance information and account details to facilitate billing.
• Secures medical records from outside providers as needed for visits.
• Schedules in-office procedures and arranges the required spaces and resources.
