Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduling Agent to serve as the front door for patients, ensuring access to the right care at the right time with the right provider.

This role handles inbound calls, schedules appointments across multiple clinics, collects demographics and insurance details, and secures medical records as needed; a background in scheduling or healthcare customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Preferred: an Associate’s degree in business or healthcare-related field.
• English speaking, reading and writing skills are required.
• Prefer prior scheduling/phone customer service experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls from patients, families and providers to schedule appointments across multiple clinics.
• Make outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists and subspecialists.
• Collect patient demographics, insurance information and account details; collect liabilities prior to service as appropriate.
• Obtain medical records from external providers as needed for appointments.
• Schedule in-office procedures and arrange the required room and resources.
