Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a remote Patient Access Scheduling Agent to serve as the front door for patients, coordinating appointments across clinics and providers with a focus on accuracy and service. The role requires exceptional communication and teamwork to facilitate access to care and financial information prior to visits.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–6:00pm, totaling 20 hours weekly, with potential signing bonus and union considerations.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: scheduling and/or phone customer services experience.
• Experience in a health care organization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handles incoming phone calls to schedule patient appointments across multiple clinics and providers.
• Makes outbound calls to schedule appointments with specialists.
• Collects patient demographics, insurance information and liabilities prior to or on the date of service.
• Secures medical records when needed to support care.
• Schedules in-office procedures and coordinates room availability.
• Applies knowledge of treatment priorities and service sequencing.
• Prioritizes visits to optimize clinician time and resources.
