Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team. You will review records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate coding for hospital data reporting.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials and have 2+ years of coding in hospital or consultancy settings, with strong communication and time management. Remote role with professional development opportunities and Datavant Health education events.

Formación

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required (RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC).
• 2+ years of hospital coding experience or coding consultancy.
• Proficient in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions, E/M leveling.
• Experience with Ancillary, Emergency Department, Injections/Infusions; good with coding mix.

Responsabilidades

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for improvement to relevant staff.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings and trainings.
• Demonstrate initiative and professional judgment in duties.
