Datavant seeks experienced outpatient coders to join a fully remote team, delivering accurate diagnosis and procedure coding while maintaining high accuracy and productivity. You will abstract data for reporting, communicate improvement opportunities, and stay current with credentials through ongoing CEU activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in a hospital and/or coding consulting role.
• Proficiency with Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions.
• Proficiency with Ancillary, Emergency Department, Injections/Infusions, E/M leveling.
• Certified credentials (AHIMA or AAPC) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign diagnoses and procedures codes.
• Assign and sequence codes accurately based on documentation.
• Assign the appropriate discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant education meetings and trainings.
