The role emphasizes high-quality coding, documentation improvement, and timely data entry for hospital reporting. The ideal candidate has AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 3+ years of coding experience, and strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for remote work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting role.
• Proficiency with AHIMA or AAPC credentials as listed.
• Experience with hospital coding specialties (Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions).
• Experience with computerized encoding and abstracting software.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting requirements.
• Maintain high coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy; meet productivity standards.
