Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote team. You will review medical records, assign codes for diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate APC and discharge dispositions while maintaining 95% accuracy.

Candidates should hold AHIMA RHIA/RHIT/CCS or AAPC CPC/CPC-H/CIC/CPC-Cred credentials and have 3+ years hospital coding experience. Strong communication, time management, and ability to work remotely are essential.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required or in progress.
• 3+ years of hospital coding experience in a coding role.
• Proficiency with hospital coding specialties including same-day surgery, observation, injections/infusions.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign/sequence codes based on documentation.
• Determine discharge dispositions and abstract coded data.
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for documentation improvement.
